From the Ditches of Nebraska-Weeds and Grasses

Looking      Loads

On Saturday, September 12th, Life Enrichment assistant Darlene, treated the residents to a program titled “From the Ditches of Nebraska-Grasses and Weeds”. She spent countless hours scouring the ditches around her farm looking for as many different types of grasses and weeds as she could find.

Beauty in nature

The residents really enjoyed reminiscing about their history with the different types. The program brought back memories of chopping thistles, picking out cockle burs and having shatter cane all over everything. Darlene informed the residents that the phrase “raising cane” comes from this weed!
